E-Bike Tours Around Havana

If you are an adventurous traveler who wants to do more than  laying by the pool on your vacation, then you are in luck! The Special Travel offers all kinds of unique tours and excursions that travelers can add to their itinerary. Our e-bike tours in Havana are a great way to visit the city’s most popular districts and get to know the most interesting historical and cultural sites at a glance. Our knowledgeable hosts specialize in many languages and are also skilled in mechanics.

We offer general sightseeing tours as well as themed itineraries that you can choose from. If you really love biking you can try a different one each day!

Havana Full Day Bike Tour

Meet your group in Old Havana, and bike around the city passing by places such as Plaza de Armas, Plaza Vieja, Plaza San Francisco de Asís, House of Perfume or Tabacco Museum, Paseo del Prado, Malecón. Stop for lunch at a restaurant by Havana’s Capitol building and then cross the town to the elegant residential district of Vedado. You will then continue to La Rampa and finally arrive at the Revolution Square. On the way back, pass through Centro Habana and stop for a drink on the rooftop terrace of the private restaurant La Guarida.

Four Hour City Tour

Starting in the old part of the town, bike through Old Havana, Centro Havana and the residential district of Vedado. We will then pass by the birth house of national poet and hero José Martí, who in earlier times marked the destiny of this country. We go through colonial history at the fortresses El Moro, La Punta, La Cabaña and La Muralla. Then we head for the Museum of the Revolution – seen from the outside – and continue along the Malecón, Havana’s famous sea-front promenade. Climbing the hill of ‘La Rampa’ is easy on the E-bike. Here in Vedado we discover the ‘modern’ life of Havana. The tour ends in the Old part of the town, where we have started.

Hang Like Hemmingway

Pass the day biking to the places where Hemingway’s life took place in Cuba. During this excursion by E-bike, you will visit Hemingway’s room at the Hotel Ambos Mundos, where the writer stayed when he first arrived in Cuba. Then we are going to explore the suburban area, enjoying beautiful views from Finca Vigía, Hemingway’s winter residence between 1940 to 1950. Enjoy a lunch at the restaurant ‘La Terraza’ in Cojimar, where the famous writer also used to eat. On our way back, we will stop at Morro castle – one of the most beautiful views over Havana’s bay. We will cross the bay on a small ferry to end our tour enjoying a Mojito at the Bodeguita del Medio.

Vamos A La Playa!

Escaping by e-bike from the busy city life in Havana to swim and enjoy the tropical beach, sounds like a great and fascinating adventure, but it soon becomes reality because not far from Havana, in Playas del Este, are lovely, tempting beaches waiting to be discovered. We start from the historical center of the town. After crossing the bay of Havana by ferry, we continue on our e-bykes on a picturesque route, discovering many small villages on the outskirts of Havana, like Regla, Guanabacoa, and Minas. Upon arriving in Santa Maria del Mar, we leave the bikes and enjoy a swim in the transparent, turquoise water, while a tasty sea food lunch is being prepared at the restaurant ‘El Ranchon’. After enjoying the beach, we bike back to Havana on a different route, passing through Alamar, Cojimar and Casa Blanca. On our return, we cross the bay by another ferry to finish our excursion in the Old Town of Havana.

Cuban Revolution Tour

The excursion ‘Cuban Revolution’ takes you by E-bike to the historical places of the Revolution in Havana. This is the opportunity to discover in person in one day Cuba’s past and the present. Start at the meeting point in the Old part of the town (Habana Vieja), then we cycle to the Museum of the Revolution – seen from the outside – where we hear about the young revolutionaries who tried to annihilate Batista in his presidential palace, visit of the exteriors with the Yacht Granma from which the 82 rebels descended in the East of Cuba to start their Guerilla War led by Fidel Castro. Later we head for the Anti-Imperialist Tribune, just in front of the US embassy, the perfect background to get informed about the difficult relationship between Cuba and the US. Continuing to ‘La Casa de Las Américas’ and the Revolution Square. Finally we visit the birth house of the National hero and Revolutionary of the XIX century, José Martí. As this interesting day comes to an end, we enjoy drinking a beer in the port of Havana.

Havana Street Art

On our E-bikes, we will cross the Paseo del Prado to visit the workshop of community art José Martí. Zigzagging through the most interesting streets, we will explore every place where renowned artists like the French Daniel Buren, the Cuban Salvador González and others have participated in projects, be it with sculptures, wall paintings, graffitis or colored stripes. So we’ll be able to see street art in San Lázaro street, in the Callejón de Hamel, at la Fabrica de Arte Cubano, in the Almendares Park and the project ‘Muraleando’.
