Then we head for the Museum of the Revolution – seen from the outside – and continue along the Malecón, Havana’s famous sea-front promenade. Climbing the hill of ‘La Rampa’ is easy on the E-bike. Then we are going to explore the suburban area, enjoying beautiful views from Finca Vigía, Hemingway’s winter residence between 1940 to 1950. Enjoy a lunch at the restaurant ‘La Terraza’ in Cojimar, where the famous writer also used to eat. On our way back, we will stop at Morro castle – one of the most beautiful views over Havana’s bay. We will cross the bay on a small ferry to end our tour enjoying a Mojito at the Bodeguita del Medio.
Escaping by e-bike from the busy city life in Havana to swim and enjoy the tropical beach, sounds like a great and fascinating adventure, but it soon becomes reality because not far from Havana, in Playas del Este, are lovely, tempting beaches waiting to be discovered. We start from the historical center of the town. After crossing the bay of Havana by ferry, we continue on our e-bykes on a picturesque route, discovering many small villages on the outskirts of Havana, like Regla, Guanabacoa, and Minas. Upon arriving in Santa Maria del Mar, we leave the bikes and enjoy a swim in the transparent, turquoise water, while a tasty sea food lunch is being prepared at the restaurant ‘El Ranchon’. After enjoying the beach, we bike back to Havana on a different route, passing through Alamar, Cojimar and Casa Blanca. On our return, we cross the bay by another ferry to finish our excursion in the Old Town of Havana.
